Knitten Clothing Company (“KNITTENS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates knittens.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse or buy from us, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to all visitors, customers, and account holders.

Information we collect

• Account & contact details — name, email address, and mobile number, collected when you sign in or check out (we verify Indian mobile numbers by one-time password).
• Order & shipping details — billing and delivery addresses, order history, and gift card messages you enter.
• Payment information — we never see or store your card, UPI, or net-banking details. Payments are processed directly by Razorpay, our payment gateway partner, under their own security and privacy standards.
• Usage data — pages viewed, items wishlisted or searched, cart contents, and similar interactions with the site, used to keep it working and improve it.

How we use it

We use your information to process and ship orders, send order and account notifications (confirmation, shipping, and login emails), provide customer support, prevent fraud, recover abandoned carts you started, and improve the site and our product range. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum information necessary with service providers who help us run KNITTENS, each acting under their own privacy and security obligations:

• Razorpay — payment processing and gift card checkout.
• Shippo and our shipping partners — calculating rates and delivering orders.
• Resend — transactional email (order confirmations, shipping updates).
• MSG91 — SMS delivery for one-time login and verification codes.
• Our database and hosting providers, who store data on our behalf.

We disclose information beyond this only where required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of KNITTENS, our customers, or others.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and remember your cart. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data retention

We keep account and order records for as long as your account is active and afterward for as long as needed to meet our tax, accounting, and legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent for optional communications like the journal newsletter, by writing to privacy@knittens.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable Indian data protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Children’s data

KNITTENS sells kidswear, but our accounts and checkout are intended for use by parents and guardians, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
